League Play

League at Tyler Park!!
League is played at Tyler State Park in Newtown PA.  Tournament Headquarters is at the picnic tables next to the parking lot between holes one and two.

Summer League Fee
$3 Per Player to play
$1 Optional Ace Pot
$1 Optional 50/50 tickets

Winter League Fee
$3 every time you play
$1 for each 50/50 ticket purchased (not required)

Teeing  Off and Lateness

All players are expected to be at the park 5 minutes before tee off to check in.  Players check in by handing in their current tag and their weekly fee.  If a player shows up late, he/she may be placed in a random group.
Players who show up late, will receive a score of 4 strokes over par for every whole that they miss with the group.

Rain Outs Before Play Begins
League Night will only be postponed based on the judgment of the league’s tournament director (TD).  The TD will make the decision at the park before tee off.  The TD may postpone league play if he/she deems that the weather conditions can cause harm to the players.  Lightning and or strong winds usually result in a postponement of that night.  All postponed nights are tacked on to the end of the schedule and will be played out before the season is over.

Rain Outs After Play Begins
If harmful weather develops during the middle of the round, the TD can call “Bring It In.” All players are to mark their current lie as is and return to tournament headquarters immediately.  Players will try to wait out the bad weather.  If the weather clears in time for the players to finish the round, all players will be asked to return to their holes and finish playing from where they left off.  However, if the weather does not clear in time, the TD can postpone the night.  No matter how many holes have been completed by a particular group, the entire night is considered a “wash” and will be replayed at a later date.  All holes played will be replayed at the later date.  A “Wash” means that the round never happened and is to be considered as a practice round.  If any Aces were recorded during the “practice round,” the player(s) WILL BE paid for the Ace(s).

Ace Pots
The Ace Pot will rollover from one week to the next. When the Ace Pot reaches $100 a second Ace Pot will be started. If no one hits an Ace during league night play for the entire season, the Ace Pot rolls over into the general fund for use at the end of the year party and awards banquet.  If two Aces are hit in one night, the players will split the total of the next two ace pots added up.  If three aces are hit then the players will do a three way split of the next three ace pots added up and so forth.

What We Are Calculating
In the spirit of the league, the following will be tabulated: League Average, Most Improved Average, Total Points, Days Played, Current Tag, Old Tag, and Most Improved Strokes from Last Year. In the event of a new player with no previous year average, previous year average will be based on the average of the players first 4 weeks of play for the current season.

Trophies or Cash (subject to change based on the TD)!!
All payouts will be cash.  TBD by the TD.

The 13 out of 18 Rule!!
Must play at least 13 out of 18 weeks in order to qualify for any trophies.

Dropping Your Worst Scores
Players who play at least 13 weeks will be able to keep their best 13 weeks of scores for ranking.

Tags
Tags will be distributed each week based on that weeks ending scores and based on all tags in attendance. You must have your tag in order to leave with a new tag; otherwise you will leave with the same tag that you didn't bring with you.  If there is a tie in scores, the better tag goes to the player who came into that week with the better tag.

If You Lose A Tag
If a player does not show up for three consecutives week, he/she will be asked to hand in their tag.  If a player loses a tag, they will be charged a $5 replacement fee to replace the tag.

Souvenirs
At the end of the year, all players will receive a tag based on their end of the year average as a souvenir of that years' league play.

Awards Picnic
The BCDGA invites all players to attend the League Award Ceremony Picnic.  The time/date/place is still TBD.  The event will take place on a weekend shortly after the end of league ends.  All trophies and final tags will be handed out at the picnic.  The picnic is fully paid for by the league as a thank you to all members for participating.  Disc sports games such as Double Disc Court and Ultimate will be organized and played at the picnic.
