BCDGA Meeting Minutes: October 4, 2005 - The Clubhouse Bar & Grill, Newtown PA

President Rex Hay presiding.

Attendees: Hay, Murray, Seaman, Birkrem, Margay, Mela, McGorry, The Brooks Family

Apparently the Great Eastern Results were lost in space being sent to the PDGA, Steve is trying

to straighten this out.

Discussed the MADC tournament schedule, and the initiative within the MADC right now to "take control of schedule and mold it our benefit".  Participation at many events in the MADC area was down in 2005, The region as a whole wants to over come this.

Treasurer report: $944 in bank, have not paid the PDGA or MADC for the GE AM Cup yet.

Yetter Recap: Short and sweet, 8 more players than 2004, everyone had a good time.  Things ran smoothly, the players party was

a big hit.

Additional tee pads are going to be built for holes 7 and 13.  Joe's goal is 70 par (I think he means for 1-18 long layout).

No date for this work has been set yet.

Shed build scheduled for October 29th 8am and October 30th after Sunday league round.  Rex/Joe to contact the park to ensure

they get us the materials in time.

SUNDAY LEAGUE!  Starting October 23rd at 10am and running for 12 weeks will be Sunday League.  This is a fun league!  $2 a

person per week.  Weekly prizes.  Optional $1 to a rolling Ace Pot.  We will not play Dec 25th or Jan 1st.  1 round of 18

each week.  Come out and bring your friends.  Joe Mela is going to be primary td for this and will be available to offer tips

and advise to any and all players looking to learn and improve.

Moonlight Madness: Saturday October 22nd 6pm, yes pm.  1-18 in the short, glow sticks on the baskets, bring your glow disks

or stop on by and we'll show you how to doctor a night glow disc.  This is a ton of FUN!  $10 a person, $8 if you come in costume.  Your entry fee includes pizza and drinks at Sal's afterwards.  The winner gets his/hers name on the trophy that lives at

Sal's.

We decided to reserve out dates in MADC Calendar.  Scott will coordinate this.

January 7th Ice Bowl - Andrew Sweeton TD

February 25th One & Done - John Birkrem TD

March 18th Johnny Boge - Scott Murray TD

October 28th Moonlight Madness - Rex Hay TD

November 4th Tyler Doubles - Joe Mela TD

We are also reserving June 17th for the Great Eastern and September 9-10th for the Yetter.  A lively discussion ensued re:

our PDGA sanctioned events.  Questions arose like, do we want to sanction them?  do we want the Yetter to be A tier?  Do we want to combine the GE and Yetter into a September tourney?  What do we call it?  One suggestion was call it the Yetter, play pros and advanced AMS for both days, play regular AMS, Novice and Junior Saturday Only and award those winners the great Eastern

Amateur Winners.  Another idea was change the name altogether different and just award the Eric C Yetter Trophy and Great

Eastern Amateur Cop winners.  The fear of this was that people relate to the name and would not attend if they did not see it

on the schedule by the name Yetter.  No final decision was made on this yet.  We want to finalize this at the November meeting.

Thoughts and idea from the members on this subject are encouraged and desired.  No TD has been named for either a GE AM Cup or a Yetter Cup.

Another lively discussion took place discussing changes to the course, what to expect, does it ever end, or what are Joe Melas

goals.  We all agreed that this course will always need monthly/yearly upkeep from all available and capable.  Joe is going to

try to communicate with the club his visions/plans/goals for the course, so we know what to expect, be prepared to help with it

if called upon and for us to help communicate this to other players we might see on the course.  The course is looking better

and better every day, we need to help Joe as much as he needs it, admittedly he doesn't ask for much help.
