ROAD TRIPS 2008

This page is going to list disc golf tournaments in the region, or not, that we know are multiple BCDGA members are definitely going to or even just thinking about going to, or even just some tournaments we think are cool or regionally important.  This may help you plan your touring schedule and possibly find someone to pool together housing or travel resources with.

To learn more, come to a meeting, come out to league, shoot out an email, or use the message board.

July 25-27 : The Open At Maple Hill : Leicester Massachusetts : http://maplehillopen.com - This tournament replaces the Marshall Street tournament and is a Pro NT event.  Joe Mela is playing and Alan and Andrew are helping out as spotters and scorers.

August 11-16 : PDGA Amateur & Pro Worlds Combined : Kalamazoo/Battle Creek Michigan : http://2008discgolfworlds.com/ - Lot of club members have been to pro or am worlds in the past and they are all planning to get their names in to go this year.  As a combined event, which does not happen all that often, it should prove to be a fantastic trip.  This is quickly ramping up to be an official BCDGA road trip. PDGA is stating that registration to all uninvited players will open June 1st.  Stay tuned for more details.  John McGinley is the contact for information about this event, reach him at: vicepresident@bcdga.com.  Earnings invites are Erick Simonds, Johnny Mac, Bigs, The Frys, Glenn P, Bob G, Joe Mela, John Murphy, Greg Wheeler, Stephen Caffery, Eric E, Harry Baker, David Martinez.  Intending to go are Stuey, JB, Phil Davis, Bigs, Johnny Mac, Sonic.

Month? Day? : Long Trout / Lime Bluff Day Trip : Auburn Pennsylvania : http://www.longtroutwinery.com - It has been suggested for a while to make a day trip to Long Trout Winery to visit the winery, taste their wares and to play disc golf at their course.  So it is unknown when this will happen, late summer early fall, but folks would like to do this this year.  Should be a blast!

October 1-4 : United States Disc Golf Championships : Rock Hill South Carolina : http://www.usdgc.com - This is a Pro Major event, by invite, but a great event to go watch and maybe caddy for your favorite local pro.
