07-27-2006 - Week 13, 14 and 15 Recap

Week 13 Recap
Okay folks here is the skinny.  9 players started, mostly before 5pm, we had light rain and a lightning storm move through Tyler, with strikes very close by, and more storms forecasted.  John and I decide to call the round because of the lightning, it is the only thing we'll call a round for really.  Those players who started and finished the round, keep there score.  Everyone else gets a make up week at the end, same layout.  Please understand, we have the utmost concern for your safety.  Hot shooters were Trenton Franz and Dave Martinez with 52s followed by Matt Lowe with a 54.  Stephen Caffery improved 12 strokes from the
previous week with a 61.  No schnides for week 13.

Week 14 Recap
Congratulations to Glenn Patterson for his ACE on hole 7.  He received $50 for this ACE.  Hot shooters were Chris Robbins with 52, Joe Mela with a 53, John Murphy with a 54 and 55s by Kyle Dorney, Nick Knapp and Dave Martinez.  Rounding out the under 57 par was Tom
Kady, Marc Brooks and Matt Lowe with 56s.  Schniding took week 14 off for vacation.

Week 15 Recap
Hot hot hot, and and did I say it was humid too?  Anyway Joe Mela was on fire pulling one of his near famous rounds and scoring a 45 (8 strokes better).  With excellent rounds themselves were Chris Robbins and Jay Klein (7 strokes better) reporting 51s.  The rest of the under pars were Stephen Deering at 53, Taz with a 54 (7 strokes better), Kyle Dorney
and Matt Ott with 56.  Other hot players were Alan Sweeton with a 9 stroke improvement, and Terry Ruth with a 6 stroke improvement.
Schnide, well you know, as Kevin was very fast to point out, Kevin McGorry chinned his way over the Birkrem bar.  Nice going Kevin, thereby putting me on the schnide for this week.  I shall not take schnide glory all by myself though, as Stu Kaplan is worthy with a 7 stroke
drop from the previous week.  Thanks Stu.

Dave Martinez, Glenn Patterson and John Murphy were all at the PDGA Amateur World Competition in Tulsa Oklahoma.  I wished them luck and hope they are doing well.

Remember the end of league party if 9/24/06 at Marc Brooks house, if you have enough weeks to qualify, and will be unable to make it, please be sure to give us your address so we can mail you your winnings.  We will be handing out the cash at that time.

The results link should now show your divisions.  PLT - Platinum, GLD - Gold, SIL - Silver, BRN - Bronze, UNR - Unrated.  These divisions were based off of your average of the first 9 weeks, for those who have played at least 4 weeks.

07-5-2006 - Week 12 Recap - Okay now, the 2nd 50/50 drawing was held last night, and Bob Zdziera was the winner of $80.  28 players for the 12th week, guess the weather kept some away, but we have 76 total enrolled players for summer league.  Okay on the good side, we have 4 players throwing under 60, Trenton Franz (where'd this guy come from?) throwing a 55, Glenn Patterson and Tom Kady both threw 57 and Chris Robbins threw 58.  Nice rounds
guys.  Three more players came in under par with 61s, John Murphy, Nick Knapp and Justin Ryan.  This is a tough layout and no one showed more than a 4 stroke improvement from the previous week, nice going Bob Seaman.  Now for the bad, aka, the schnide.  Don Marshall dropped like a rock, sliding 11 strokes from the previous week to a 67.  Did I hear there was a 7 on his card?  John Murphy slipped 8 strokes, Nick Knapp slipped 6 strokes and Kyle Dorney dropped 7 strokes.  Thanks to John Mc, for doing the late shift of sign in and allowing the Birkrem Bar to go heads up play against the McGorry Tag, that was fun.

Heard on the course:
nothing.....
