End the year right, start the year right message.
In the words of a great scholar... WHAT THE
CRAP????
Where has this
year gone? It is already time for the annual 'End the
Year/Start the Year RIGHT! Events...'
Andrew 'Big
Dog' Sweeton, Stephen 'The Canadian' Caffery, and a cast of
a couple others, invite everyone to end the year right with
a casual round of disc golf on Sunday Dec. 31st
starting at 10:00am at the Premier Tyler State Park Disc
Golf Course. Then join us, and that crew from the south, at
Sedgley Woods for their annual 'New Years Day' event, the
next day Jan. 1st,
starting at noon, to start the year right.
Because there
is nothing better than disc golf... well...
Anyways... We
hope to see many of you both days!

Ice Bowl Message from the Canadian'.
To all,
Some of you may
be aware that Andrew 'Big Dog' Sweeton and I have tried,
with some success, to run an event in the lovely month of
January called 'The Tyler Ice Bowl'. The premise has been,
along with clubs throughout the world, to give a little back
to our local community charities and have a great day of
disc golf at the same time.
In the past,
Andrew and I have encouraged everyone to donate canned goods
which we have had delivered to 'Aiding Our Neighbors' Food
Bank in Yardley, PA. The past two years we have had the
distinction of being the number one club in the world for
total food collected by weight. In 2006 we were able to
collect a total of 1,778lbs of food, and in 2007 we would
like to collect a 'ton' more.
Yes, on January
6th,
2007, we would like to see us be number one for a third year
running and more importantly collect over 2000lbs of food
for the food bank! Last year we had some close competition
from Peoria, IL with 1,375lbs of food... let's not let them
beat us this year!!
As our flyer on
the website states, we will be giving prizes to the top
three collectors of food by weight, but as an added
incentive, I will personally be putting up a Revolution Team
Bag to the person bringing the total weight of food closest
to Big Dog's weight on the day of the event!
So start
collecting, bug your friends, neighbors, and enemies if
necessary, or just put out a box at work (if you are
allowed) and have people drop in a few of their extra canned
goods... whatever it takes to get those much needed canned
goods... be creative!!!
Remember it is
by weight and not be quantity.
See you all on
the 6th
of January.

Canadian' Caffery

BTW - I weigh a
heck of a lot more than a bread box, but a lot less than a
Buick - but wait - is that my weight before, or after, all
those hot dog split sundaes?
